PAE MU KA AT 20 CONCERT -“GOOD “OLD DAYS, THE LOVE OF HIPLIFE”

Over two decades of good and legendary music exploits Obrafour’s celebration of 20years of his biggest album “Pae Mu Ka ” came off at the Accra International Conference Center. Themed “Pae Mu Ka at 20 concert is one concert which hosted core fans of the legendary Hiplife rapper and general music lovers.
The Jaming night which commenced after 9pm was hosted by EIB anchor Kofi Okyere Darko

PERFORMANCE

kri8 band was in charge of stage opening, followed by acts like Article wan,Krymi,Joyce Blessing etc. To the main deal, Obrafour’s entry was Grande. Projecting Ghana’s cultural practices ,he highlighted the respect for elders and prominent people in the society when he was ushered on stage by what symbolises a linguist in a chief or King’s palace .
As the man of the moment took the whole auditorium by storm keeping them constantly on their feet with back to back hit off his famous and celebrated “Pae Mu Ka ” album during his first appearance.Sending the whole auditorium into the good old days Obrafour introduced the likes of CY lover ,TH for Kwages,Tic-tac . Performances from Stonebwoy,Samini,Ras Kuku keeping the dance hall Nana Ama Mc Brown, Bisa Kdei, Akwaboah
etc and Climaxing it with a serious throwback of the HIPLIFE gurus, Reggie Rockstone, Edem, Kwaw Kesse, Sarkodie and himself Obrafour.
ATTENDANCE
Now that we are done with some of the high points on the night let’s move into other aspects like attendance and patronage. Prior to the event ,we all agree that publicity at some point was very low but again few days to the event day, we will also agree that it was intensified together with its anticipation. Especially with the reduction of the ticket sales. Therefore I was very disappointed when just a little over 1600 capacity auditorium was not filled. This shows only one thing, that the industry love and respect the legendary Obrafour but is slow in responding to his call and also not ready to spend on him. But on the bright side, the auditorium saw many known faces in Ghana’s entertainment industry. Moesha, Yvonne Nelson, Shatta wale,Prince David Osei,Abeiku Santana, chiefs etc just to mention a few. The lower deck of the auditorium which constitute half was however filled to capacity
SETUP/LOGISTICS
The normal Conference Center sitting arrangement, the stage design however was one beautiful. Giant screens showing projections, live band setups with two DJ stands promised a very fun packed night. Which indeed was seen. Sound however was the element that nearly took the beauty out of various performances.
In all Obrafour’s celebration of his biggest album dubbed Pae Mu Ka at 20 was very successful and congratulations to the organizers Kri8 concepts and everyone who supported.
